After pet food contaminated with Chinese melamine killed and injured dozens of dogs and cats in 2007, Claire Buchanan of Mill Valley, California, vowed to create for commercial distribution crunchy, delicious dog treats from fresh, organic ingredients provided by known and trusted local vendors. Her company is Saute2000. She calls her biscuit varieties “Bowwowscotti.”
In order to insure the highest quality control, she personally produces each batch in her spotless Mill Valley, California kitchen. The biscuits are fresh baked and never stored in a warehouse. Biscuits move from the kitchen to retailers in the San Francisco Bay Area and to the public by means of the Internet.
Every year Claire contributes a portion of her proceeds to worthy canine rescue organizations such as the Marin Humane Society and American Brittany Rescue.
Human Treats:
Sea Salted Caramel Chocolate Candies
Saute2000 created Sea Salted Caramel Chocolate candies in 2013. Treats for human consumption only. These popular confections are a blend of two dark chocolates and a handmade caramel filling of organic ingredients that include kosher Strauss cream, vanilla, and sugar. A topping of kosher sea salt infuses these candies with a delectable counterpoint. A sugar-free version made with Maltitol is available. Special attention to packaging ensures that the candies are protected from excessive temperature changes during shipping.
Production in a licensed and inspected home kitchen in Mill Valley, California, insures purity of ingredients and quality of production: County of Marin permit #722598794.
Sea Salted Caramels Chocolate candies are sold in the “Grab and Go” bin at Andy’s Market in San Rafael, California and The Juice Girl in Mill Valley, California. Online purchases can be made at www.saute2000.com.
